In addition to our bar extruders, Egan Food Technologies also offers slab-bar forming lines for more fragile materials such as nutritional, granola, crisp rice, meal replacement, energy, cereal, and other bars. Our popular Slab Forming Line has quickly become Egan Food Technologies' best selling equipment. In the past, this type of equipment was only available from overseas suppliers. With us, it's conveniently made at our Grand Rapids, Mich. headquarters and available with shorter lead times and faster service.


We've used industry best practices to create a fully customizable system with state-of-the-art features. Stainless steel components and a sanitary design allow for complete wash down, while a modular design makes way for additional features such as:

Entry Level Slab Forming Line

Egan Food Technologies' Entry Level Slab Forming Line

Designed specifically with entrepreneurs and start-up bar manufacturers in mind, Egan Food Technologies’ Entry Level Slab Former will allow companies to affordably automate processes currently being done by hand. When your production needs grow, our modular unit grows with your business. We designed this line to easily be upgraded with auxiliary equipment for more robust automation.


The equipment gently, uniformly presses dough across a 16-inch-wide belt surface. Pressing rolls are adjustable for bar thickness and accommodate product inclusions. A guillotine device cuts the slab every 24 inches, and a retractable conveyor gently places the cut slab into an 18-inch by 26-inch baking pan, in which slabs can be cooled or baked prior to cutting into unique bar lengths and widths.
